Motion sickness
-
Munch on a slice of ginger or take ginger tea about ½ hour before travels and when in the moving
vehicle. Ginger tea can be prepared in a thermos and brought along on the journey. Alternatively, take
2 ginger capsules 15 minutes before a long journey, or take a cup of ginger tea with honey to settle
nausea in motion sickness.
-
Sniff on a lime before and while in the moving vehicle in travels to prevent being car-sick.
-
Take 2-3 tablespoons honey with a pinch of salt before every journey, or add the honey and salt to 1
glass water before drinking it.
-
Munch on a slice of raw sweet potato (the yellowish variety) when feeling nauseated in travels.
-
For air-sickness, place a nutmeg under the tongue when feeling nauseous. Drink plenty of plain water before taking off on travels.
Jet Lag
-
Take some ginger, ginger tea or in capsule form 1 hour before flying on
travels.
-
Drink 2-3 cups water every 1-2 hours on the plane. Avoid caffeinated drinks.
-
At the end of the journey, take 1 cup hot milk with a pinch each of nutmeg and ginger added. Also rub
sesame oil on the scalp and soles of the feet if convenient.
-
Drink ½ cup warm water with a few drops of rosemary oil added and at bedtime, drink 1 cup valerian tea.
