For acute gallbladder
inflammation, fast on
strictly water for 2-3 days until the acute gallstones improves. After the fast,
consume beet, carrot, grapefruit, lemon and grape juice for a few days. Adopt an adequate
lacto-vegetarian diet, consisting of raw and cooked vegetables, vegetable juices, and moderate amounts
of fruit and seeds. Also take yogurt, cottage cheese and a tablespoon of olive oil 2x daily as it
stimulates bile and lipase production. Eat small meals at frequent intervals rather than three large
ones. The recommended foods to take would be on rising in the morning: a glass of warm water mixed with
lemon juice and honey or fresh fruit juice which can also be taken mid-morning. For breakfast: Fresh
fruit, 1-2 slices of whole meal toast and 1 cup skimmed powder milk. For lunch: Big salad with lemon or
vegetable oil dressing or vegetable soup and for dinner: lightly cooked vegetables, baked potato, brown
rice or whole heat bread and a glass of buttermilk.
