Liver Problems 2

  • Drink chamomile tea 3-4 cups a day (6 cups max.) every other day to help produce new liver tissues and prevent liver problems. To make chamomile tea, boil 2-4 cups water. Remove from heat and steep in 2 teaspoons dried or fresh flowers for 20 minutes. Cool, strain and drink.
  • Take pomegranate juice regularly to relieve liver problems. It also relieves intestines troubles.
  • Eat raw or cooked wild cabbage leaves to help break down toxins in the liver.
  • Add turmeric to the diet to prevent fatty accumulation in and around the liver, especially when eating fatty foods.

Liver Cirrhosis

  • Have complete bed rest, avoid alcohol totally and do a liver-cleansing fast for 7 days consuming juices of fruits like grapes, red beet, lemon and papaya. For the next 2-3 weeks, take fresh fruits like apples, pears, grapes, grape fruits, oranges, pineapples and peaches, and sip slowly fresh unboiled milk for meals 3x daily. Start with 1 liter milk on the first day and gradually increase by ¼ liter until 2½ liters a day is reached. Go on a well-balanced diet after the fasts consisting of seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits, making sure the the diet is sufficient in high quality protein.
  • Consume vegetables such as beets, squashes, bitter gourd, egg-plant, tomato, carrot, radishes, papayas.
  • Avoid all fats and oils, refined, processed, canned and fried foods, all types of sugar, spices, condiments, strong tea and coffee, foods prepared with ghee, butter, too much salt, chemical additives, pollutants.
  • Avoid constipation so as not to aggravate liver problems.
