Darken Hair, Delay Graying

  • To darken hair (makes black hair blacker) and delay graying, wet hair every morning with the residue of boiled tea leaves.
  • To delay graying, blend well a mixture of ½ - 1 cup coconut oil, 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel and the juice of 1 lime. Apply on the hair and leave for 30 minutes before shampooing off. Do this 3x a week.
  • Dry in the shade a handful of seeds from a ripe papaya. Roast in an ungreased pan until it blackens. Then pound until fine. Cook this mashed seeds with 1 bowl thick coconut milk until it becomes oily, to be used as hair oil and applied to the hair everyday to prevent graying.
  • Squeeze curry leaves in buttermilk or boil in coconut oil. Apply on the hair as tonic for stimulating hair growth and bring back hair pigmentation. Take curry leaves in other forms (cooking, etc.) as the leaves provide vitality and strength to hair roots.
  • Dry a few pieces of ribbed gourd in the shade. Once dried, soak them in coconut oil and keep for 3 - 4 days. The coconut oil should be boiled until reduced to a blackened mass. Massage this into the scalp to enrich hair roots and restore hair pigment.
  • Eat a little butter (made from cows' milk), and massage some into the hair roots 2x a week.
  • Massage the hair with almond oil.
  • To prevent and remove graying, put 2 tablespoons each dried sage and orange pekoe or black tea in a ceramic bowl. Add half-bowl boiling water, then cover with aluminium foil before placing the bowl over a low fire for 2 hours or more. Lift the bowl, then cool and strain the mixture. Apply in small amounts to the root of the hair 4-5x daily. When graying fades and hair becomes darker, apply 1-2x a week to maintain the color. This treatment may also remedy baldness or hair loss in some people, and improves hair texture and tone.
  • To prevent graying and treat premature graying, take 1 liter yogurt daily, and 1 tablespoon yeast before each meals to help the bacteria produce anti-grey hair vitamins (pantothenic acid, para-aminobenzoic acid, inositol) in the intestinal tract.
  • To prevent premature graying, eat a small roll of butter made from cow’s milk, and massage a little quantity into the hair root 2x a week.
  • Eat carrots to furnish fresh blood and maintain hair health.
  • For premature graying, dry some pieces of boil ribbed gourd in the shade, then soak them in coconut oil for 3-4 days. Boil until it is reduced to a blackened residue. Massage into the scalp to help enrich the roots and restore hair pigment.

Gray hair, darken hair

  • Mix 1 tablespoon coconut oil with a handful curry leaves. Cook till burnt. Once cooled, use the mixture as tonic.
  • Pound till fine a handful of curry leaves. Then, mix with coconut milk and boil until it turns into oil. Apply the oil on the hair every day.
  • For limp hair, grind a handful of sesbania leaves and apply them on the hair, then put on hair cover. Leave ½ hour, then wash. Do this 2x a week.
