Fever 2

Go to Fever 1 | 2

  • Boil 1 cup crushed barley with 6 cups water until reduced to three cups. Add a few drops of lemon juice to make it more effective. Drink the mixture.
  • To lower the fever, add 10 cups of sage tea to a tub of water and soak in it, and/or drink ¼ cup every 15 minutes for 2 hours.
  • To sweat out the fever, mix lemongrass, basil and fennel in equal parts to make tea powder. Steep 1 teaspoon in 1 cup boiling water for 10 minutes. Strain, then drink.
  • To relieve fever, mix 1 cup grape juice with ½ teaspoon each cumin, fennel and sandalwood powder. Drink the mixture.
  • For chronic fever, steep 1 teaspoon holy basil in 1 cup hot water with ¼ teaspoon black pepper and 1 teaspoon honey added. Take the tea 2-3x daily.
  • Eat the flesh of the bottle gourd with ½ teaspoon vinegar before bedtime.
  • Drink a cup of water from boiled jasmine flower.
  • Observe a food fast, and drink plenty of water to replace those lost in sweating. Don't drink milk, and avoid cold drinks.
  • Do not suppress fever unless it is very high, it's a natural part of the body's defenses. Generally fevers of 100 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit is acceptable, but fevers over 104 degrees Fahrenheit is considered high and should be treated.
