41. Proportion meals according to time of day.
It is preferable to have a breakfast of fruits and fruit juices. Have the heaviest meal at lunch, where the digestive fire is strongest, and a small meal during dinner where in the later part of the day, the digestive fire is weakest.

42. Avoid mixing protein and starch.
These two need different environments for digestion. Starch is digested much more easily while protein need a more acidic environment. When combined, neither has an ideal environment for digestion. Also never eat sugar and protein at the same time. Protein should be eaten first, followed by legumes and grains, then vegetables such as salads. Since protein needs acid for its digestion; by ingesting water, fruit, or salad before the protein you dilute the hydrochloric acid needed for the digestive process. Properly combining foods prevents bloating, constipation, heartburn, indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome, migraine, malabsorption and bloating (gas).
