How to make Chamomile Tea?
To make chamomile tea, boil 2-4 cups water. Remove from heat and steep in 2 teaspoons dried or fresh flowers for 20
minutes. Cool, then strain.
How to make Chamomile Oil?
To make chamomile oil, fill some fresh flowers in a small tight-lid bottle and fill it with olive oil. Sun the
bottle for 2 weeks, then refrigerate and use when needed. Warm before use by heating it up over a low fire or place
the bottle in a hot water-filled bowl.
How to make Aniseed Tea / Syrup?
Boil 2 liters water, then reduce the heat and add 7 teaspoons aniseed. Simmer until reduced to 2 - 3 cups. Strain
the mixture. To make syrup, add 4 teaspoons each honey and glycerin.
How to make Fenugreek Tea?
Add 1 cup boiling water to 2 - 3 teaspoons fenugreek seeds. Steep for 15 - 20 minutes.
How to make Carrot Soup?
Cook 1 lb carrot in 5 oz water until soft. Strain the pulp and add water to make 2 liters. Add three-quarter
tablespoons salt.
What is Buttermilk?
The residual milk left over after the fat has been removed from yogurt by churning.
How much is a serving?
An example of a serving of fruit would be either 1 banana, 1 small apple, 10 grapes, 1 wedge of watermelon, or
one-quarter cup dried fruit. A serving of vegetables would be either three-quarter mug full, or 100g of cooked
vegetables or 150g of raw vegetables.
How to make Soya bean Milk?
Soak soya beans in water for about 12 hours. Thoroughly wash the beans and remove the skin. Put them through a
grinding machine to turn them into paste. Mix the paste with water 3 times its quantity. Boil on a slow fire. Stir
frequently. Turn off the fire, and when it becomes a little cooler, strain through a cheese cloth. Add honey to
taste.
