Rub the painful area with a paste of ginger powder
(mixed with water to make paste). Leave for 10 - 25
minutes. Wash this off, then rub again with some
eucalyptus oil.

Massage intensely with warm black seed oil. Also
drink 1 teaspoon each black seed oil and olive oil
3x daily.

Take 2 glasses of water immediately when pain
strikes due to pains caused by dehydration.

Take pineapples for its bromelain, an
anti-inflammatory agent.

Take vitamins C and D, calcium, manganese and
magnesium to strengthen the bones and cartilage.
Also take vitamin E to protect the joints
and improve mobility.

Use chamomile oil to massage the back. To make
chamomile oil, fill some fresh flowers in a small
tight-lid bottle and fill it with olive oil. Sun
the bottle for 2 weeks, then refrigerate and use
when needed.

Take plenty of raw vegetables such as tomato,
carrot, cabbage, cucumber, radish, lettuce and at
least two steamed or lightly cooked vegetables such
as cauliflower, cabbage, carrot, spinach. Also take
lots of fruits but avoid bananas.

Avoid fatty, spicy, fried foods, curd, processed
foods, sweet foods, sugar, tea, coffee and smoking.

Other measures to take: Control weight so as not to
burden the back and cause backache, do light
exercises like walking, swimming or cycling
regularly while keeping the back straight,
never bend from the waist down to life any
objects but bend the knees and lift up objects
slowly keeping the back straight, sleep on a
firm surface on the sides with the knees bent
about 90° to the torso, do neck exercises to
release constricted muscles.
